On arrival to the Club where should I go?

One of our Front of House Attendants will greet you at the front door to the Clubhouse where you will be given a warm, friendly welcome and brief introduction to your golfing journey at The North Berwick GC. They will then advise you of where the Starters Lodge is for pre-round registration and where to find the Pro Shop.

Can I practice before I start my round?

We do have a practice facility which is in the middle of the golf course where balls are provided through a dispenser. If you wish to utilize this facility, we kindly ask that you inform us of this prior to arrival and we will meet you there and provide directions for you to get there.

Alternatively, we have warm-up areas in close vicinity to the 1st tee in the form of nets and chipping & putting green.

Is there a dress code for the course and for the Clubhouse?

On the course we expect formal golfing attire, including the wearing of golf shoes or training shoes. The rule of thumb being if it can be purchased in a Professionals Shop then that is acceptable.

In the Clubhouse, smart jeans (no rips/ holes) and training shoes are welcome along with formal golfing attire.

Do you have handicap limitations to play the course?

As we are a true championship course the test you will face reflects this. As a result, the course is not suitable for inexperienced golfers. All golfers should have a handicap of no more than 24 for gentlemen and 36 for ladies. Please arrive at the Starters Lodge with a paper or electronic copy of your certificate.
